Core Values
Our congregation shares key truths that bind us together. These are nonnegotiable truths that we have covenanted together to uphold. We value core areas in the life of our church. Together, these shared values identify who we are, rally toward all that we desire to accomplish, and unite us in fellowship.
First Church Has Seven Core Values Aimed At Glorifying God And Transforming The Life Of The Corporate Body (The Church), Self, And Others.
Love God and Love One Another
(Matthew 22:36-40 NIV): “36Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Always Pray
(Philippians 4:6 NLT): “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”
(1Thessalonians 5:17NLT): “Never stop praying.”
Worship God In Spirit And In Truth
(John 4:23-24 NLT): “23 But the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way.
24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Grow In Knowledge Of God
(2 Peter 3:18 NLT): “Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to Him, both now and forever! Amen.
Be Thankful
(1Thessalonians 5:18 NLT): “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Be Joyful
(Psalm 100:1-2 NLT): “1Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy.
(1Thessalonians 5:16 NLT): “Always be joyful.”
Live For The Glory of God
(Matthew 5:16 KJV): “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(1Corinthians 10:31 NLT): “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
